The horned dinosaur floodgates have opened!
Thanks to reaching its funding goal last week (and some greatly appreciated stretch goal amount adjustments by David Silva), the Kickstarter for Beasts of the Mesozoic: Ceratopsian Series has unlocked its first two stretch goals.
On Friday, the campaign surpassed $160,000, which unlocked the beautiful Chasmosaurus.
On Sunday, the campaign shot past $170,000, which unlocked the Diabloceratops. A lot of folks seemed to have been waiting on this handsome devil, since pledges were still going strong as of Sunday evening.
Another factor helping the campaign to chug along is the new Beasts of the Mesozoic: Ceratopsian Series 2020-2021 Calendar that was recently made available as an add-on pledge tier.
The 24-month calendar features large print versions of the gorgeous packaging artwork by Raul Ramos, Jax Jocson, Carlo Arellano, Shannon Beaumont, and R.J. Palmer.
But back to the stretch goals: Next one up is the Nasutoceratops, which unlocks at $185,000. After that comes the series’ two 1/6th scale figures, Protoceratops and Psittacosaurus, followed by the coveted Medusaceratops.
Here’s a handy chart featuring prices and prototype images for all the Wave 1 stretch goal figures. If you’d like to see what the figures from Waves 2 and 3 look like, David Silva updates the campaign every day with packaging art and painted prototypes. Go check it out!
