Wes Ball helming new ‘Planet of the Apes’ film

Hail Caesar!

“Ape together… strong.”

In the latest Planet of the Apes trilogy, these were words Caesar and his tribe lived by. The idea of strength through unity was a consistent part of Wes Ball’s Maze Runner trilogy, so it makes sense that Disney has hired him to direct a new Planet of the Apes film.  It’s unclear if Ball’s film will be a sequel to War of the Planet of the Apes, or a reboot.

Planet of the Apes is one of the many 20th Century Fox franchises acquired by Disney after the Disney/Fox merger. The latest film, War for the Planet of the Apes, swung into theaters July 2017, completing the latest trilogy, led by motion capture pioneer Andy Serkis.

Keep your eyes on AIPT for more Planet of the Apes news as it becomes available.
