Last week, Daisy lost her boyfriend and her eye in a horrific attack. To make matters worse, her new prosthetic eye is giving her some pretty horrific visions.
This week, those visions get much worse.
Snappy, Spoiler-Lite Recap
- Not sure what’s creepier: Your presumed dead boyfriend showing up in your room or him saying “I always loved watching you sleep”.

- “She is coming…she needs you…”
- I don’t know, Daisy–pain meds are probably still okay to be taking at this point.
- If there’s one place people won’t really care about someone having a mental breakdown, it’s on the subway.
- What the hell is that?
The Verdict
On one hand, I absolutely love the atmosphere and aesthetic of this series so far. Everything Danny Luckert draws looks good, but the demonic entity haunting Daisy is genuinely unsettling.
As far as Jeremy Haun’s script goes, he does a superb job of fleshing out Daisy as a character. Unfortunately, the narrative around her feels almost completely stalled. Aside from the opening and a truly perplexing last page, not much happens to move the story forward. The scary stuff is good, but it would be nice to understand a bit more about what’s happening to Daisy after two issues.
That being said, Red Mother is still good enough to stay on the pull list for now.
