Nvidia announces GeForce Now Founders Edition for $4.99

Nvidia wraps up beta and goes live with $4.99 price tag.

On October 1, 2015, Nvidia released a beta of GeForce Now, a streaming gaming service, for free. The cloud gaming service allows gamers to play games on any computer at max settings as long as they have the bandwidth. That means even if you don’t own a beefy gaming PC, you can still play your favorite PC games on a Mac or even a Chromebook. Over four years later it appears the beta is over as they have emailed beta testers “Your Work Here Is Done, Now It’s Time To Play.”

In the email sent to users, they serviced over 1 million gamers for over 50 million hours of gaming so as to test out the new system. The testing is now over and to thank beta testers Nvidia offering them a 90-day introductory period to try out Nvidia for free. Once the three months are over the price will be $4.99 a month with a year rate also available. The price appears to be in direct competition with Google Stadia which costs $10 a month — after a hardware cost of $130.
