Ta-Nehisi Coates ending run on ‘Black Panther’

#25 will be final issue of Coates’ historic run.

Yesterday at Chicago’s C2E2 Comic Con, Ta-Nehisi Coates announced that he would be ending his run on Marvel’s Black Panther title with issue #25, which will be released this June.

The news, first reported by Graeme McMillan of The Hollywood Reporter, is sure to disappoint Black Panther fans. His take on the character is arguably the most unique and richly complex one that we’ve ever had.

Thankfully, Coates is still writing the Captain America book for the foreseeable future. As someone who has the title on their personal pull list, I can confirm that it’s definitely one you want to be reading, as well.
