WWE SmackDown reportedly moved due to coronavirus

Friday Night SmackDown, live from…the WWE Performance Center?

On the same night that saw Tom Hanks announce he has tested positive for the coronavirus, the NBA suspend its season until further notice, and a European travel ban was made, Pro Wrestling Insider is reporting that WWE has cancelled Friday Night SmackDown. The event was scheduled to take place in Detroit, Michigan. The new plan is to air the show from the Performance Center in Orlando, Florida.

WWE SmackDown reportedly moved due to coronavirus

An official announcement regarding the change of venue is expected to be forthcoming.

There is no word on how this will affect next week’s Raw taping, and plans for WrestleMania are also still up in the air. WWE seems determined to hold their annual biggest card; however, with all the news that has been in the headlines, it seems like holding the event would not be in the best interest of the talent, crew, and fans who attend the largest professional wrestling card of the year.
