The show goes on: AIPT will continue its SXSW coverage

Our SXSW coverage will continue.

AIPT was looking forward to attending SXSW. Along with film reviews, we had plans to attend world premieres and panels ranging from modern horror to an oral history of the X-Men. Unfortunately – and for good reason – the popular festival was cancelled as the coronavirus continues to spread.

That being said, AIPT will continue some of its planned coverage of the event. Obviously, we are disappointed to miss out on the world premieres of The Green Knight and Arkansas. Yes, the festival buzz is exciting. However, there was much more to report.

SXSW was an opportunity for smaller films to get the word out. The festival is a largely attended event that can provide a lesser known movie or documentary the kind of momentum to give them a larger audience. To that end, we have been in contact with creators and their representatives in order to continue to give these films the coverage they need. We will respect all embargoes and work to give these films and our readers the coverage we had planned.
