In a surprise Nintendo Direct today, Nintendo announced the first details for the upcoming holiday events being added to Animal Crossing: New Horizon throughout the year. These events will be distributed through free updates as they approach to prevent time travelers from jumping ahead to Toy Day and distributing Jingle’s gifts for a little Christmas in July.
The first holiday Animal Crossing islanders will be able to celebrate from April 1st through April 12th is Bunny Day! Zipper T. Bunny makes his return to the series, hiding eggs around players’ island home which can be crafted into Bunny Day themed furniture. Will we finally know for sure who’s under that zipper? Only time will tell!
Unlike in past games, Bunny Day celebrations will continue for several weeks, meaning you don’t have to clear up your schedule for only one day of festivities! Nintendo also teased a coming Earth Day event for later in April (assumed to be on or around April 22nd) and even hinted at the endlessly positive Leif making an appearance!
We’ll have to wait for more details about the Earth Day event, but keep an eye on AIPT for continued coverage of every Animal Crossing holiday throughout the year!
