The next entry in the NieR franchise is a mobile game named NieR Re[in]carnation

It’s a big day for fans of the NieR franchise.

As the 10th anniversary of the original Nier game approaches this April, Square-Enix teased a new entry in the franchise coming to mobile devices, NieR Re[in]carnation. This will be the first new entry in the Nier franchise since NieR: Automata launched on PS4 and PC in 2017. No details about the title are yet known, but a teaser trailer was dropped earlier today, which you can watch below.

This is the second big announcement out of Square-Enix today, following the news that Nier Replicant, an alternate version of the game originally only available in Japan, will be released to the world at-large later this year.

No release date for NieR Re[in]carnation is available at this time. For those fans that are hungry for any details that can get, they can feast their eyes on these gorgeous pieces of art. Check them out below.

NieR: Automata director Yoko Taro’s name did not appear in the teaser trailer, but it was confirmed that the game is being produced by Square-Enix, developed by Applibot, and features character designs by CyDesignation, whose name has been attached to Lost Order and Odin Crown. Whether or not this game is a direct sequel to the 2017 action-RPG Nier: Automata is unknown.
