Top Chef Season 17 Power Rankings: Week 6

The chefs partake in an L.A. Philharmonic inspired challenge to melodiously pair two different tastes in a single dish.

In the most recent episode of Top Chef, the contestants utilized different alternative flours in the quickfire. They had to create a dish that used a non-wheat flour such as blue corn, almond, brown rice or quinoa. Then for the elimination challenge, they paired up into teams to create a harmonious dish that featured only two of the five tastes. Both members of the losing team would be eliminated.

Melissa regains both the lead with most elimination wins and the top spot. Her partner, Kevin, also moved up landing in at number two. Best friends, Chuck Taylor and Trent Nini and Karen, were sent to Last Chance Kitchen for having a pronounced sweetness in their sour/umami dish. This was the week the winner of the web series would reenter the competition and Karen came out victorious.
