Disintegration, sci-fi FPS from Halo co-creator arrives June 16

Join the fight to keep your humanity in this sci-fi shooter.

Disintegration, an ambitious FPS/RTS hybrid from Halo co-creator Marcus Lehto, officially launches on June 16 . Developer V1 Interactive also dropped a new trailer today that shines a light on the game’s single-player campaign.

Disintegration drops players into a distant future in which global catastrophe has caused humanity to leave their mortal coils behind and “integrate” with machines — though not all humans are happy with the new status quo. The campaign centers around a late-night host turned rebel named Romer, who leads a small group of outlaws fighting against the corrupt Rayonne government. The Rayonne wants to force integration on everyone, whereas the outlaws simply want to be human again.

As Romer, you will control a gravcycle, a heavily armed hovering vehicle that allows you to survey the battlefield while reigning attacks from above. You will have to take down common enemy infantry as well as opposing gravcycles throughout the campaign in frenetic first-person shooter combat. Romer also commands a squad of special soldiers who can unleash specific attacks on enemy combatants, adding an RTS flair to the mech-heavy first-person gameplay.

I had the opportunity to test out Disintegration at New York Comic Con 2019 and dove deep into the technical beta that was released in February — both sessions left me feeling incredibly optimistic about this title. While I only spent time in the multiplayer suite rather than the campaign, the FPS/RTS gameplay styles meld together seamlessly for a truly unique and exhilarating gameplay experience.

Disintegration is the debut release for V1 Interactive, and launches on Playstation 4, Xbox One, and PC on June 16.
