‘Dark Nights: Death Metal’ gets two one-shot comics in August with crazy good talent attached

Death Metal is heating up in August with two newly added one-shot titles, issue #3, and today a seventh issue announced.

DC Comics’ next big event Death Metal kicks off this June 16th and today DC has announced the event has extended to a seven issue series. Writer Scott Snyder has been teasing for weeks the event is only getting bigger while they have more time to plan and he was not kidding as two new one-shot tie-in comics have been announced today too. Titled Dark Nights: Death Metal Guidebook #1 and Dark Nights: Death Metal Legends of the Dark Knights #1 the one-shot titles drop in August.

The creators working on the titles is pretty huge starting with Scott Snyder and including James Tynion IV, Joshua Williamson, Becky Cloonan, Vita Ayala, Chip Zdarsky, Christopher Priest, Doug Mahnke, Dan Panosian, Eduardo Risso, Khary Randolph, Yasmine Putri, Peter J. Tomasi, Warren Ellis, Garth Ennis, Daniel Warren Johnson, Frank Tieri, Tony S. Daniel, Jim Cheung, Joëlle Jones, Riley Rossmo, and Francesco Francavilla.

These Dark Nights: Death Metal Guidebook #1 guidebook comes out on August 18th.

Possibly due to faces getting melted off DC Comics has also announced the event will be taking a month off in September. Maybe to allow more time to work on the final and newly added 7th issue? Either way, are you pumped for Death Metal or is that the silliest question you’ve heard all year?
