In an exclusive report yesterday from Bory Kit of The Hollywood Reporter, it was revealed that Timothy Olyphant was cast in a role for Season 2 of Star Wars: The Mandalorian.
The Justified star joins a long and star-studded list of recent casting announcements for the series, which already includes:
- Michael Biehn as a bounty hunter.
- Rosario Dawson as Ahsoka Tano.
- Temuera Morrison as Boba Fett (and possibly Captain Rex)
- Katee Sackhoff as Bo-Katan Kryze
As of right now, nothing about Timothy Olyphant’s role on The Mandalorian has been revealed. His badass lawman roles on Justified and Deadwood would seem to make him a perfect fit as a frontier enforcer butting heads with Din Djarin. He can also play a great full-on villain, as evidenced by his performances in Live Free or Die Hard and 1999’s Go.

Whatever type of role they ending up casting him in, Jon Favreau & Co. have once again shown they’ll be pulling out all the stops to live up to the high expectations set after the series’ first season.
Season 2 of Star Wars: The Mandalorian debuts in October on Disney+.
