This week special guest Chris Arrant joins us to talk about what it’s like to be an editor at Newsarama, his take on the state of the comics industry, and so much more. Listen for the interview at the midway point of our show as we also do a deep dive look at Ezra Claytan Daniels’ graphic novel Upgrade Soul. What worked and what doesn’t work for us as we analyze the award-winning graphic novel.

Starting things off is Diamond Comics Distributors’ announcement of a “comeback” plan for May 20, and then we get into a whole bunch of DC Comics news starting with their decision to eliminate preview days for LCS, the delay of DC’s Generation event, a look at DC Comics’ July schedule, and a look ahead as DC reveals Batman: Three Jokers is coming out in August, Dark Nights gets 2 tie-in issues, an additional 7th issue, and a September break, and finally Supergirl #42 is going digital-only.
Moving on from DC Comics, we talk about Rose City Comic Con being canceled, James McAvoy and a dozen other stars join the Sandman audio drama, Jeff Lemire is bringing Sweet Tooth back to DC plus Robert Downey Jr. is bringing Sweet Tooth to Netflix. Finally, to wrap up the news Marvel Comics has started to reveal August/September schedule with Maestro getting an origin story, X of Swords is coming in September, and Mark Waid is teaming up with Neal Adams on a Fantastic Four collaborating.
