The five remaining competitors of Top Chef made the trek to Europe where they settled in the city of Lucca. For the quickfire, they had to create food for the aperitivo, or Italian happy hour. They all had to choose a station representing ingredients from a different region of the county and make enough servings for 30 locals and the judges.
The elimination challenge saw the contestants cook any dish they wanted but they had to incorporate and spotlight white truffles. As a fun activity beforehand, they all took part in harvesting the luxurious ingredient out in the wild.
Melissa stayed on top of the Power Rankings by winning the elimination challenge, her second straight. Another season long favorite cooked his final dish of the competition when Gregory was eliminated.
