Hulu honors adult animation with first ‘HAHA Awards’

Vote for best catchphrase, fart performance, epic battle scene and more!

Hulu has assembled a great collection of adult animation programming to stream on its service. Viewers can watch old favorites such as King of the Hill and Futurama to their most recent originals including Solar Opposites and Crossing Swords. Nearly 40% of the platform’s users tune in to adult cartoons each month.

Beginning today, Hulu is celebrating the animation connoisseur in all of us by hosting the HAHA Awards (Hilarious Animated Hulu Awards). It is the first ever all-animated awards showcasing the years best in adult animation and fan-favorite characters that can be found on the streaming service. Subscribers and non-subscribers alike can vote on ten categories that identify sophisticated pets, epic battles, the best hangover performance and more.

Hulu announced 40 nominees today with the shows Bob’s Burgers, Archer, Bless the Harts, Duncanville, and Solar Opposites leading the nominations with four each. They have been included in some of the more prestigious categories such as “Best New Show” and “Breakout Star of the Year”.

Anyone can vote for the HAHA Awards either through the official awards website or through a social poll on Hulu’s Twitter channel. Voting runs until July 19 and the results will be announced on Thursday, July 23. Check out the categories and nominees below.

I don’t know how seriously to take the awards show because it only includes shows on Hulu and some of the nominees are from older shows, but it looks like fun. Plus, the winners will be announced during San Diego Comic Con@Home.
