World of Warcraft: Shadowlands, the long-running game’s eighth expansion, will enter public beta next week. The announcement came during Blizzard’s latest World of Warcraft developer update video on their YouTube and Twitch channels.
Shadowlands is currently scheduled to be released in the fall, but given the game’s slow rollout in testing channels, fans have been worried about that timeline. “Fall” is really only just over two months away, and usually WoW expansions require many months of beta testing before it’s ready for prime time. But lead developer Ion Hazzikostas assured viewers the game will release on time.
Shadowlands follows up with the game’s current version, Battle For Azeroth, and will take players to the realm of death itself, promising the return of big-name dead characters like Arthas, King Varian Wrynn, and more.
