King in Black is a new Marvel event by Ryan Stegman and Donny Cates.

Marvel Comics announced a new event series called King in Black via their Twitter account today. The new series focuses on Knull, a Venom villain created by Donny Cates and Ryan Stegman.

Check out the video below.

The series follows the events of Absolute Carnage with Knull now free and coming to Earth to reak some havoc. Cates said it’s a “Cthulu dark horror” series and he’s surprised Marvel is letting he and Stegman go so dark. The reveal also came with some slick cover art by Ryan Stegman which features Wolverine, Venom, Hulk, and Cyclops on the cover. Check it out below.

I recently had the chance to interview Stegman about future projects and I think he alludes to this in our interview, which you can listen to here.

I recommend watching the video all the way through as there’s a blooper reel featuring Cates swear his mouth off.
