IDW‘s president, publisher, and chief creative officer Chris Ryall is stepping down as president of IDW Publishing. The news was revealed by Hollywood Reporter earlier today. Ryall is stepping away from IDW to launch a new publishing venture, “dedicated to developing new creative voices.”
Ryall took to Twitter to remark on the news which he said was revealed a bit earlier than he intended.
Well. This news is a bit sooner than we'd all intended–so if I didn't get a chance to notify some of you directly as I'd hoped, apologies–but hey, there's always a big announcement on Tuesday leading into #SDCC, right? https://t.co/BGreP0G8zq

Creators like Tom King and Dan Slott wished him well.
Ryall left IDW Publishing in March 2018 to work at Skybound Entertainment and returned to IDW in December 2018 to serve as President, Publisher, and Chief Creative Officer. Ryall first joined IDW way back in 2004 to become Editor-in-Chief.
The news comes just a day before San Diego Comic-Con kicks off its Comic-Con@Home.
