Eddie Kingston signs with AEW

Eddie Kingston’s match with Cody Rhodes a couple weeks ago impressed AEW brass enough to get a contract.

All Elite Wrestling’s roster has its newest member: Eddie Kingston. AEW announced the acquisition today on its Twitter account.

“The Mad King” Eddie Kingston appeared on the July 22 edition of Dynamite, challenging Cody Rhodes for the TNT Championship as part of Cody’s weekly open challenge. Before the match, Kingston cut an impassioned promo that endeared him to many of AEW’s fans, before going on to have a brutal no disqualification match with Cody in a losing effort.

AEW has been scooping up talent left and right as of late, including former WWE Superstars such as Matt Cardona and NWA’s Ricky Starks, who also got a chance to get noticed as a part of Cody’s TNT Championship open challenge.

Kingston may be new to AEW, but is an 18 year veteran of the squared circle. He started in Chikara in 2002, and has since worked for CZW, PWG, Ring of Honor, Impact Wrestling, and most recently the National Wrestling Alliance.

Congratulations to Eddie Kingston!
