Thanks to the fine folks over at Showbuzz Daily we have the ratings and viewership data for this week’s episodes of WWE NXT and AEW Dynamite. Each Wednesday the two shows go head-to-head in the Wednesday Night Wars, hoping to capture the most wrestling fans and the most viewers in the 18-49 demographic.
Each show saw in increase from last week in total live viewers, with AEW Dynamite drawing 901,000 and NXT drawing 753,000. Last week AEW drew 773,000 while NXT pulled in 707,000.
As you can see this is a massive increase for Dynamite week-to-week, pulling in around 128,000 new live viewers. While NXT had a much more modest increase, just shy of 70,000.
This was the first time Dynamite has drawn more than 900,000 viewers in months and this is AEW’s best showing in the numbers war since March 18 when it drew 932,000 viewers. Not for nothing, this was also a good night for WWE, with NXT reporting its best numbers since night two of the Great American Bash on July 8 with a gentleman’s 759,000 viewers.
In the 18-49 demographic, AEW is sitting in a comfortable lead with a 0.36 rating, which was also an increase from last week’s 0.30 rating. While NXT on the other hand, drew a 0.20 rating in the 18-49 demo, also an increase from last week’s 0.18 rating. AEW rose from 6th to 5th place in the demo rating for the night, while NXT moved up from 28th to 27th place.
Can anything spot the Demo God Chris Jericho? Certainly not a debate with Orange Cassidy, and clearly, not Triple H and NXT.
You can watch AEW Dynamite every week on Wednesday at 8pm EST on TNT. You can also watch WWE NXT every week on Wednesday at 8pm EST, but they’re on USA. The Wednesday Night Wars continue!
