Yen Press acquires pro wrestling manga ‘New Japan Academy’

Yen Press has acquired pro wrestling manga New Japan Academy for release in English. The series is an action-comedy focusing on teenager Tetsuya Naito who hopes to reach the top tier in the New Japan Academy.

It order to be the champion, he’ll have to face formidable students like “Rainmaker” Kazuchika Okada and the “Once-in-a-Century Talent” Hiroshi Tanahashi. Luckily for Naito, he has his boys in Los Ingobernables de Japon on his side! No matter the odds, Naito’s motto remains the same: tranquilo (quiet).

Based on the New Japan Pro Wrestling (NJPW) scene and from the point of view of real-life wrestler Tetsuya Naito the series is set for an October 2020 release.
