In the DC Comics December 2020 solicitations, DC Connect #5 teases something called DC Future State. Found near the back of the digital catalog is the full-page ad. What could be an event, is teased as a January and February 2021 story.
The likelihood this is an event is higher since Dark Nights: Death Metal #7 comes out January 5th wrapping up the latest event. Could this be the often rumored DC Comics reboot once dubbed 5G? Read all about the rumored 5G initiative here.

Taking a look at the Dark Nights: Death Metal #7 page in DC Connect one could surmise something is happening directly sprouting off the event as the words, “leads directly to the next phase of the DCU” are written. Plus, Death Metal is ending January 5, 2020. This page is followed directly by the Future State teaser.
