Enjoy, and happy reading!
Daredevil #22
Words by Chip Zdarsky. Art by Francesco Mobili.
The art department did a fantastic job keeping this issue sharp while helping to build the overall story. The book relies heavily on facial expressions and body language, which Francesco Mobili keeps interesting. The stern look on Daredevil’s face while he was being booked was perfect, as you can feel this man holding himself back from either a fighting rage or breaking down because he has failed them. Skulldigger and Skeleton Boy #4
Words by Jeff Lemire. Art by Tonci Zonjic.
Skulldigger and Skeleton Boy continues to visually challenge its readers in ways that not only excite, but increase the possibilities of what comics can do. If you like superhero stories, you need to do yourself the favor and read Dark Horse Comics’ best series of the year. Skulldigger and Skeleton Boy is one of the most rewarding experiences of 2020. Canto II: The Hollow Men #2
Words by David M. Booher. Art by Drew Zucker.
If you have ever dreamed of being part of a classic fantasy tale, all you have to do is pick up this series. The creative team has given us a slew of characters that we can easily see ourselves in. From the courage that we sometimes yearn for, to the doubt that at times we cannot escape, Canto is the representation of feeling small in a big world, but having a heart big enough to face it. X of Swords: Creation #1
Words by Jonathan Hickman & Tini Howard. Art by Pepe Larraz.
When the X-creators said on X-Men Monday #75 this is a good jumping on point, they weren’t kidding. There are well-timed flashbacks, recaps of key characters and locations, and clear terms in regards to who is most important to the event itself. There are plenty of surprises and questions to be answered, but there’s a level of understanding as far as where we go from here, the stakes in play, and how this event upends everything. You’ll put this book down and realize the complexities of Krakoa are in danger, some of your favorite characters will not be able to escape the conflict in this event, and have enough information to start imagining what may happen next. Simply put, this book establishes things very well. (9.5/10)

Wynd #4
Words by James Tynion IV. Art by Michael Dialynas.
Wynd continues to be a delight to read. Its characters are wholesome and real and the approach is mature in more ways than one. Wynd is filled with adventure, light romance, and the kind of mature suspense that tells a story on multiple levels. (9.5/10)
