Digital comic book readers have a new option in the comic-reader landscape and it’s called Macroverse. Fans can get a taste of the new app via new series Phobos. Created by 2019 Best Web Comic Eisner-nominated creator, Jason Brubaker (reMIND, Sithrah), you can check out a preview below complete with the Macroverse borders to convey the experience.
So what’s it about?
Knocked unconscious 700 years ago, the vampire Phobos is stuck at the bottom of his toxic mote and in mid-transformation between bat and human. Upon waking, Phobos learns his castle has been taken over by a mad scientist and a patchwork Frankenstein, along with a mysterious but beautiful new assistant, Eninac, who nurses him back to health. Once they learn who Phobos really is and the power he possesses, they wish they never saved him in the first place.

The first 2 issues are free here and the following 7 are free with a $4.99 all-access monthly subscription.

Macroverse stands apart from other digital comics platforms because of its highly curated comics, but also its TapStory format to create a more “cinematic experience” as a key part of the storytelling.
