This week, we devote a segment to picking our top 3 favorite horror comics to give you frights for Halloween. As usual, we recap the week in news and review our top books of the week. Our top picks include Retro Alien comics from Dark Horse, Harrow County, Saga of the Swamp Thing, The Dark & Bloody, PTSD Radio, and Plunge!
Before we get to our Halloween picks, we recap the news starting with the Marvel Solicitations for January 2021 which featured Immortal Hulk: Flatline being announced, tons of Alien variants, new details on Star Wars High Republic, Non-Stop Spidey, and W.E.B. expanding the Spidey line, and Ms. Marvel is ending in January. Also in the news, Brett Booth will be the X-Men artist, and there is some controversy around that.
In other comics news, Razorblades #2 drops and it gets subscription options, Marvel Unlimited titles now available 3 months after print, and DC Comics ships solely through Lunar, which requires a $500 monthly minimum order.
Some titles are ending in 2021, including Seven to Eternity ending with its last arc, Invisible Kingdom’s final arc is coming in May, but fear not as, surprise, Runaways returns next week. In our last bit of news, we talk at length about Adobe’s ComicBlast promises to “disrupt” how comics are created, which seems generally evil.
