Savage Dragon officially congratulates Joe Biden and Kamala Harris on 2nd printing cover

Image Comics celebrates Biden/Harris win with ‘Savage Dragon’ #253 reprint

Image Comics is celebrating the Joe Biden/Kamala Harris presidential win with a new variant cover to Savage Dragon #253. Back in September, series artist and writer Erik Larsen endorsed the candidates with a variant cover and now they’re releasing the same cover with a new word balloon and white background.

Comic book shops can use Diamond Code OCT208042 to order the second printing which will be available in comic book shops Wednesday, December 9th.

Check out the cover below.

Savage Dragon Joe Biden Kamala Harris

This isn’t the first time Savage Dragon has endorsed a candidate for President of the United States. In addition to endorsing Barack Obama, Savage Dragon has been seen punching out George W. Bush on the cover of Savage Dragon #119.

PORTLAND, Ore. 11/09/2020 — Image Comics partner and CFO Erik Larsen is celebrating the Biden/Harris win by sending the hit issue Savage Dragon #253 back to print with a congratulatory cover for the President-elect Joe Biden and Vice President-elect Kamala Harris.

“After a long and hard fought Presidential Election the victors have been chosen by an overwhelming number of voters. Savage Dragon #253 had an endorsement cover which was enthusiastically received by readers and it quickly sold out in stores across the country and around the world,” said Larsen. “This post-Election second printing cover celebrates the People’s choice with a congratulatory message from the title’s star, Malcolm Dragon. The best is yet to come!”

Larsen has previously done covers featuring cameos of politicians including his recent first printing Biden/Harris endorsement cover, which sold out at the distributor level, and his cover endorsing Barack Obama sold out and went back to press four times.

Savage Dragon has had a long tradition of president and candidate covers dating back to George W. Bush, and covers featuring past presidents have become highly collectible items.

Savage Dragon #253 second printing (Diamond Code OCT208042) will be available at comic book shops on Wednesday, December 9.

Savage Dragon #253 is also available for purchase across many digital platforms, including Amazon Kindle, Apple Books, comiXology, and Google Play.
