Winter is here!

Hello, All Elite Wrestling fans! Today is the day! AEW has gone full on Game of Thrones and Winter is Coming! We have a couple videos which are just a breakdown of the plot up till now for some angles, so if you need a refresher watch them or simply read through the summary here! Get amped! Get excited! Mox and Kenny tonight! Alright chums, time’s up, lets do this!

Listen to the latest episode of our weekly wrestling podcast, PTW!

Being the Elite

  • Private Party tricks Ortiz into eating the spicy chips from the one chip challenge. Ortiz shrugs it off like it’s no big deal. Private Party is impressed. After they leave Ortiz rushes for water.
  • Brandon Cutler is checking out all the cameras by touching them. He explains to Kazarian that he is checking to see which ones are soft and which ones are hard since he is looking for a hard cam. Kazarian scolds him for being him a mark. Marko comes in and asks if he needs anger management. Kazarian of course gets upset and yells at him.
  • Matt Hardy comes up to the Young Bucks and once again brags about all of the things he has done and how great he is.
  • Kip Sabian approaches Brandon, asking where Leva Bates is. He is mad and wants another rematch with Leva at the video game they were playing. He says that the next time they play she is going to be destroyed.
  • Anna Jay and John Silver commiserate over both losing matches. Cabana says they should both hug and be friends. They both go in for a hug and end up hugging different people. Silver hugs Five and Anna hugs Stu, threatening him as she does. They all come together as a family.
  • Hangman is just outside the room listening to the group being a family and having fun. Sad music plays as he walks away….sadly.
  • Tay Conti and Anna Jay walk through Jurassic Express and Super Panda hanging out. The two women are smitten with Super Panda and walk off with him, leaving Jurassic Express.
  • Trent, having won his title shot for the BTE Championship, gets another shot. John Silver has decided that to win you must throw a packet of mustard into a bowl.

Road to Winter is Coming

  • The entire thing recounts our story of Mox and Kenny up to now. So here is a brief recap if you don’t have the time:
  • Mox first appeared in AEW at their first PPV as a company, Double or Nothing, attacking Kenny Omega after the main event. Kenny had a match with him at All Out in 2019 that got moved due Mox’s injured arm. Kenny talked trash about Moxley pulling out, leading to Mox attacking Kenny on Dynamite’s first ever episode, putting him through a glass table.
  • At Full Gear 2019, Moxley and Kenny had a brutal unsanctioned match which Moxley won, leading to Kenny falling into a depression.
  • The two wouldn’t interact with each other again until Kenny won the tournament a year later at this year’s Full Gear, pitting the two against each other once again.

Winter is Coming Control Center

  • We got a quick rundown of Cody’s relationship with Taz within AEW so far. Taz is upset that Cody won’t acknowledge the FTW Championship, a belt he created years back that AEW has been mostly trying to avoid acknowledging. Taz is proud of his belt and is angry Cody won’t give him more to do with it.
  • This whole angle adds on the already brewing feud between Team Taz and Cody/Darby, throwing fresh fuel onto the fire.
  • Next we had a quick rundown of what happened last week with Frankie Kazarian hitting MJF in the jaw, leading Jericho to call him out and challenge him. We haven’t had these two interacting much except for a match last year with SCU vs. Jericho and Sammy, although Sky was the focal point of that match instead of Kazarian.

Twitter Happenings and Misc

  • I have just discovered Shida’s YouTube series. In case you are like me and missed it somehow, here is the first episode. It’s not wrestling related, more just a side project but worth checking out!
  • In Sammy’s vlog Fuego del Sol overhears QT talking trash about him, Cody puts over Fuego again, and Ricky Starks stays in the vat of ice for two minutes.
  • Colt Cabana insulted Trent and Trent’s mom came to his defense
  • John Silver tries to befriend Hangman via Twitter. Hangman is not having it.
  • Chuck Taylor is getting into the spirit with AEW’s GoTesque advertising
  • Anna Jay is on AEW’s podcast
