Yesterday, Anthony D’Alessandro of Deadline.com broke the news that the highly anticipated (and perpetually delayed) Godzilla vs. Kong has had its released date moved up from May 21 to March 26 of this year.
The film’s release was recently in jeopardy when Legendary Pictures balked at Warner Bros. decision to release its entire 2021 movie slate in theaters and their HBO Max streaming service simultaneously. Now that things have been smoothed over, we’ll get to watch the kaiju fight everyone’s been dying to see even earlier than expected–and in the comfort of our own homes!

Godzilla vs. Kong
Another benefit to the movie’s release date getting moved up is that the trailer should finally come out. I know it seems weird to look forward to a trailer two months away from a film’s release, but we’ve been waiting for our first glimpse of this thing for over a year.
Part of me still wishes I could see Godzilla vs. Kong in theaters, but I’m glad I’ll be able to watch it safely in my house while cheering on Godzilla to avenge the win he was cheated out of in the 1962 film.
