Take this with a giant grain of salt, but it appears Willem Dafoe may be returning as Norman Osborne/Green Goblin for next Spider-Man movie. According to website GWW, Dafoe has reported to set to reprise his role from Sam Raimi’s first Spider-Man film.
To be honest, I initially had no idea if GWW was credible (or who they even were) until this rumor broke. They weren’t one of the well known clickbait sites, but I also hadn’t heard of them getting any genuine scoops before. After digging into things, however, it turns out their sources nailed Alfred Molina’s return to the franchise weeks before THR confirmed it.

Willem Dafoe is in Green Goblin suit from 2003’s Spider-Man.
The news also tracks with all the confirmed/strongly rumored reports of other characters from Sony and Netflix’s Marvel properties joining Spider-Man: Homestar Runner Spider-Man 3, which will definitely involve the multiverse.
So is GWW’s report enough to bank on Willem Dafoe’s Green Goblin being in the movie? I wouldn’t say it’s a sure thing yet, but that won’t stop me from relishing in it’s status as a very strong possibility.
