Earlier today, Hulu released a new teaser trailer for their upcoming animated M.O.D.O.K. series, which debuts on May 21. Unlike a lot of streaming releases lately, all ten of the series’ episodes will drop on the same day.
Let’s watch Patton Oswalt’s M.O.D.O.K. in action a bit before we dive in.
While the opening of the trailer doesn’t give us much beyond what we already saw from New York Comic Con, the second part features the title character and his A.I.M. minions taking on (and brutally murdering) S.H.I.E.L.D. agents. Also, I love that he explains what M.O.D.O.K stands for (Mental Organism Designed Only For Killing) in the best, most Patton Oswalt way possible.
I still think that an animated comedy about a Marvel villain who’s essentially a running joke will be a hard sell to casual viewers. For us comic geeks, however, this should be a real treat.
If the preceding teaser wasn’t enough M.O.D.O.K. to tide you over, then check out Chris Hassan’s interview with Oswalt and series writer Jordan Blum.
