It was inevitable, but San Diego Comic-Con has officially revealed they will not be hosting an in-person event this year. Instead, they will return to the Comic-Con@Home format that they used last year.
Per a letter posted on their Twitter, San Diego Comic-Con made the announcement earlier today.

AIPT covered Comic-Con@Home 2020 extensively, which was certainly a very different format. The format utilized YouTube to stream its 30 to 60-minute panels which were posted at specific times. The format also allowed users to view panels at a later time and fast forward and pause at their leisure.
The event will continue to be free.
