Violet is a film coming to this year’s South by Southwest that everyone can relate to. Life presents a series of difficult decisions. Sometimes the best thing to do is to listen to that little voice in your head. Some of us call it our conscience; others refer to it as a gut feeling. It may not always make the right choice, but it is definitely looking out for your best interests.
But what if that voice is lying to you?
Written and directed by Justine Bateman, the film stars Olivia Munn in the title role. Violet Morton has listened to her voice her entire life. Her one goal was to always avoid the worst case scenario. Violet looks like it will tackle themes of confidence, independence, and security. It is an interesting premise that at its core seems to ask a simple question. How much can you trust yourself?
SXSW is March 16 – March 20. Tickets and a full lineup can be found here.
