AIPT Comics Podcast Episode 115: Snyder Cut takes, Hellfire Gala shakes, while June 2021 takes shape

Episode 115 of the comic podcast is influenced by the Snyder Cut, we recap a week of June releases and more.

This week on the AIPT Comics podcast, Nathan and Dave get silly as we reflect on the much anticipated Justice League Snyder Cut, make our picks of the week, and discuss the fact that this episode may be a Knightmare reality!

Before we dig into that, we discuss the biggest news of the week. Kicking things off, we discuss the newly released full line-up of Free Comic Book Day 2021 titles announced coming in August. In publishers’ news, Kickstarter partners with Bookshop.org in a new deal that could stoke comic sales and Simon & Schuster signs deal with AHOY and Heavy Metal.

In new release news, Dark Horse announced Black Hammer: Reborn for June 23rd, the publisher is launching Norse Mythology II #1 June 16th, and Cullen Bunn and Andrea Mutti are bringing a new horror series to Dark Horse called Parasomnia

June Marvel releases were also announced including  Al Ewing’s Immortal Hulk spin-off Gamma Flight, Marvel’s X-Men Hellfire Gala designs, revealed a new hero who is the Captain America of the railways, Captain America’ #30 marks Ta-Nehisi Coates’ final issue, and Star Wars Pride Month variants are coming out in June as well.

Meanwhile, Archie is set to publish Rob Liefeld’s The Mighty Crusaders: The Shield #1 for June, DC’s adult-oriented Black Label has a new boss: Chris Conroy, Image Comics is releasing two new series in Vinyl and Compass in June, and BOOM! Studios has announced a new series called Good Luck.
