BOOM! Studios and Keanu Reeves’ ‘BRZRKR’ headed to Netflix

‘BRZRKR’ is headed to Netflix for a live-action film and anime project.

BOOM! Studios has announced Keanu Reeves, Matt Kindt, and Ron Garney’s BRZRKR is headed to Netflix. The rights to BRZRKR’s by Netflix will result in a live-action film and an anime spinoff. Based on an idea by Keanu Reeves, BRZRKR was first announced last summer as a Kickstarter, which was wildly successful.

The BRZRKR comic has been a huge success with colors by Bill Crabtree, letters by Clem Robins, and character designs and covers by Rafael Grampá. The series has been so successful the first issue even sold out after over 600,000 copies were sold and went back to print!

Per BOOM! Studio’s press release, Reeves has recently wrapped production on The Matrix 4 with John Wick 4 set to start filming in the spring, so there’s some time before we’ll see him suit up for BRZRKR.

So what’s BRZRKR about?

– BRZRKR is a brutally epic saga about an immortal warrior’s 80,000 year fight through the ages. The man known only as “B” is half-mortal and half-god, , cursed and compelled to violence… even at the sacrifice of his sanity. But after wandering the earth for centuries, B may have finally found a refuge – working for the U.S. government to fight the battles too violent and too dangerous for anyone else. In exchange, B will be granted the one thing he desires – the truth about his endless blood-soaked existence…and how to end it.

You can pickup BRZRKR #1 now in comic shops where available, or digitally as it was released earlier this month on March 3rd. BRZRKR #2 is set for release on April 28th in a planned 12 issue run.
