John Romita Jr. set to return to Marvel Comics in July

‘I have returned to Marvel, the company that I started my career in, and I couldn’t be more thrilled!’ said John Romita Jr.

Marvel Comics has announced John Romita Jr. is returning to Marvel Comics this July. Romita Jr. switched over to DC Comics exclusively in 2017. Romita Jr. is a staple of so many Marvel projects–he has his own Visionaries graphic novel for crying out loud–and started his career at the House of Ideas.

John Romita Jr. was incredibly excited to join DC Comics, at the time, as he told AIPT he was especially since he got to draw Superman.

“I have been very fortunate more than a few times in my life, and now I can add this latest event to that list. I have returned to Marvel, the company that I started my career in, and I couldn’t be more thrilled!” said Romita via a press release sent to AIPT. “I am literally, at this very moment, working on my next big Marvel project, and it’s a blast!!! I am JUST as excited as I was when I first started, and I will do my best to let the work show that again. I hope fans will see that too!”

In celebration of his return, Marvel commissioned Romita Jr. to draw a bunch of the merry Marvel superheroes. Check it out below with inks by J.P. Mayer and colors by Marte Gracia.
