AIPT Comics Podcast Episode 118: Phillip Kennedy Johnson on writing aliens: Superman, Carnage, & Xenomorphs!

The AIPT Comics podcast probes details on Marvel’s Alien, Extreme Carnage, Superman, and more with our special guest!

This week on the comics podcast, very special guest Phillip Kennedy Johnson joins the show to discuss writing Superman, Alien, and July’s Extreme Carnage. We discuss the differences between all three titles, working with the Alien story group, tidbits on future plans at DC Comics and Marvel and so much more.

Before we get to the interview, we recap the week in comics! We kick things off with all the Marvel Comics news, starting with their revealing a new X-Men creative team, two new X-series for August/September 2021, Moon Knight is set for July, how they officially announced Flash Thompson is set to return in Extreme Carnage: Alpha, the news that they’ll be launching a Jabba the Hutt one-shot for the ‘War of the Bounty Hunters’ event, and how the upcoming Empyre collection will collect unpublished pages from books canceled by pandemic.

In other news, Beyond the Breach #1 was announced at AfterShock and it looks fantastic. Dark Horse revealed a new fantasy graphic novel Rewild for October 2021 and BOOM! and Image announced 2nd printing news this week including Nocterra #2.
