On Friday, The Hollywood Reporter exclusively revealed that the script for ‘Captain America 4’ (which definitely won’t be the movie’s official title) will be penned by The Falcon and the Winter Soldier showrunner Malcolm Spellman. Show staff writer Dalan Musson will be co-writing with him, as well.
Considering how great The Falcon and the Winter Soldier has been, it’s safe to say that this decision was a no brainer.
For what it’s worth, Deadline.com still insists that a Captain America project featuring Chris Evans is in the works despite both Evans and Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige insisting it’s not. Even if that project turns out to be real, though, I doubt Spellman would pick it over one continuing all the great stuff he set up in The Falcon and the Winter Soldier first season (series?) finale.
Whatever the case, the future of the shield is in great hands.
