From the page to the screen: three key moments for ‘Jupiter’s Legacy’ adaptation

Some highlights we’d like to see in the upcoming Netflix series.

As the debut of Jupiter’s Legacy draws near, we thought it’d be a good time to take a look at some of the best moments from the comics that must brought to life in the series.

Battle with Blackstar

This early battle in issue #1 serves as a great introduction to the variety of heroes in this universe. This gives viewers a first glimpse of the Utopian and Co. cutting loose in this intense confrontation. It also debut’s Walter’s psychic disembodying technique, which will surely make for a visual spectacle. From the trailer it seems that this battle will be included in the series and looks fully realized from the great Frank Quitely’s artwork.

In an effort to do some “real” superhero work, Brandon and his pals telekinetically fly a cargo freighter to it’s port. It’s a fun set-piece early on that gives a good look at the “heroic” feats the second generation of heroes engage in. This scene also gives some much needed depth into the relationship between Brandon and his father, The Utopian.

The Island

A mystical island haunts Sheldon Sampson’s dreams during the Great Depression but what lies in wait for them on the shores? This adventure forms the bedrock for Golden Age heroes moving forward, so it will be interesting to see how it translates from panel to the screen. From the trailer, it definitely looks like we’ll be treated to several snapshots of Sheldon and his family’s journey to this mysterious island.
