Sony has released the first-ever trailer for Venom: Let There Be Carnage and it features Tom Hardy and Woody Harrelson in all their Symbiote glory. Originally slated for 2020 release, the film has no release date stamped on the trailer, but June 25, 2021, was floated the last time this news came up.
So what’s Venom: Let There Be Carnage about?
Tom Hardy returns to the big screen as the lethal protector Venom. Directed by Andy Serkis, the film also stars Michelle Williams, Naomie Harris and Woody Harrelson, in the role of the villain Cletus Kasady/Carnage. The screenplay is by Kelly Marcel from a story by Tom Hardy and Kelly Marcel. Sony’s Venom: Let There Be Carnage opens only in theaters on September 24 in the US, September 15 in the UK and September 16 in Australia.
Watch the trailer below.
As you can see, the film seems to be leaning into the goofier side of Venom as seen at times in the first film. Woody Harrelson also seems to be having a blast. With Andy Serkis behind the camera, one can hope the motion capture and believability of the characters will shine through.
