Courtesy of Marvel Comics, AIPT has an exclusive first look at Cable: Reloaded #1, a “Last Annihilation” tie-in coming out this August. Written by Al Ewing with art by Bob Quinn, the one-shot focuses on the X-Men character Cable. “Last Annihilation” kicks off in Ewing’s Guardians of the Galaxy #16 which sees the entire galaxy under attack.
Fans of Cable, and what Gerry Duggan and Phil Noto have been doing with him, should note old Cable playing a role in “Last Annihilation” does not imply anything when it comes to the current ongoing series set to wrap up with issue #12. This is a separate story taking place two months after Cable #12 wraps up that story.
It’s a one-shot Ewing says is a great chance to use the time-traveling character. “Cable Reloaded gives me and Bob a chance to explore Marvel’s other man out of time in his natural element – a high-octane action-fest with a few old and new friends,” Ewing said. “To help defeat the ‘Last Annihilation,’ Cable and his team will be taking on some long-unseen X-foes, man to man and quite literally face to face…”
Check out the summary of the one-shot as well as the cover art by Stefano Caselli below.
