Today, DC Comics has officially announced the Aquaman 80th Anniversary 100-Page Super Spectacular which will be a 100-page anthology comic celebrating Aquaman and available in comic book shops on August 31st. The giant-sized one-shot is joining a series of one-shot spectacular’s which have featured Joker, Catwoman, Green Lantern, and Robin to name a few. With Aquaman’s first appearance in 1941’s More Fun Comics #73, the special one-shot will feature a treasure trove of talent.
That talent includes stories by Dan Jurgens, Geoff Johns, Brandon Thomas, Chuck Brown, Stephanie Phillips, Michael Moreci, Marguerite Bennett, Dan Watters, Jeff Parker, Becky Cloonan and Francis Manapul. They’ll be joined by some of the most prolific artists in comics, including Steve Epting, Paul Pelletier, Valentine de Landro, Hendry Prasetya, Pop Mhan, Trungles, Miguel Mendonça, Evan “Doc” Shaner, and more.
Customary of the series, the one-shot will feature variant covers celebrating the character throughout the decades. Here’s the full lineup of variant covers and artists by decade:
