HBO Max and Cartoon Network reveal Batman: Caped Crusader and My Adventures with Superman.

HBO Max and Cartoon Network are working together on brand new animated DC Comics programming that will feature some of their biggest heroes: Batman and Superman.

The first, Batman: Caped Crusader will mark the return of the Dark Knight to an animated series. The announcement was made earlier today and it has already been greenlit for a straight to series order.

There are some entertainment heavyweights behind the new show with executive producers J.J. Abrams, Matt Reeves, and Bruce Timm. Both Reeves and Timm have a history with the character with the former who directs and co-writes the upcoming The Batman film while the latter is known for his work on the groundbreaking Batman: The Animated Series.

Batman: Caped Crusader will use the most state-of-the-art animation techniques and technologies. In addition, it hopes to reinvent Batman and his memorable cast of villains through complex storytelling, layered characters and riveting action that all take place in an aesthetically distinct world.

The show will be produced by Warner Bros. Animation, Abram’s Bad Robot Productions and 6th & Idaho.

The other new show reveal by HBO Max and Cartoon Network is My Adventures with Superman, which is a brand new kids and family animated series. It has received an initial two-season order.

Unlike the current Superman & Lois, this show will focus on twenty-somethings Clark Kent and Lois Lane along with Jimmy Olsen as they find themselves and learn their true potential as an investigative reporting team at the Daily Planet.

My Adventures with Superman will be a serialized coming-of-age story with Clark fitting into his superhero role while Lois begins her ascent into a superstar reporter as she takes Jimmy under her wing. At the same time, Clark and Lois begin to fall in love while embarking on their various escapades. Jack Quaid and Alice Lee are already on board as talent voicing Clark and Lois respectively.

The series is produced by Warner Bros. Animation. Sam Register serves as executive producer. Jake Wyatt and Brendan Clogher will be co-executive producers and Josie as co-producer.
