Over the weekend, Adult Swim unveiled a new and completely insane trailer for Rick and Morty‘s fifth season, which premieres June 20 at 11:00 PM.
You can’t go wrong with a trailer that uses ‘Sabotage’ by the Beastie Boys.
Despite showing quite a bit of content, it doesn’t give us a whole lot of context about what interdimensional adventures await the Sanchez family this summer. We do get a ton of recognizable pop culture references, though. The homages to Hellraiser and Voltron are likely to garner the most attention, but my personal favorite was the one for Captain Planet.
I grew up in Atlanta and it came on after Braves games — don’t judge.

As usual, the titles primarily consist of Rick and Morty-ified titles of popular books, television shows, and movies. That last one (‘Rickmurai Jack’) also makes you wonder if we’re going to see something similar and/or connected to the ‘Samurai & Shogun’ short from last year.
But no matter what shenanigans come up this season, Rick and Morty‘s long awaited return is yet another thing we can look forward to as life edges toward something resembling a normal summer.
