New Rick and Morty Short, ‘Samurai & Shogun’ Debuts on Adult Swim

A new anime inspired Rick and Morty short.

Those waiting for the back half of Rick and Morty’s fourth season, received a pleasant surprise on Saturday night. New content debuted during Adult Swim’s Toonami block of programming. Though the anime inspired short entitled, “Samurai & Shogun” is only about five minutes long, hopefully it can satisfy that Rick and Morty itch for a little bit longer.

Anime studio, Studio DEEN, produced the short and features voice talent, Youhei Tadano and Keisuke Chiba. Both actors play Rick and Morty respectively in the Japanese dubbed version of the show. In it, Rick kidnaps Shogun Morty from a clan of Ninja Ricks and must fight them off. Check out the very bloody and violent “Samurai & Shogun” which partly draws influence from the classic manga, Lone Wolf and Cub, below.
