Video compilations showcasing Cyberpunk 2077 bugs and glitches have begun leaking online. A few remain at the time of this writing, and you can head over to Reddit to view some of the existing compilations. They seem to be internal videos from QA testing over the course of the game’s development, with some even showing Cypberpunk 2077 in an early third-person mode.
The videos showcase the player character flying off the map, cars defying gravity, combat with a floating hammer, bad facial animations, characters glitching with the landscape, and…weird shenanigans with chickens. One video even seems to be a trailer of the various bugs and glitches spliced together.
The Verge‘s Tom Warren captured a now-deleted tweet from Cyberpunk senior producer Slava Lukyanenka that confirms the videos are real.
I doubt CD Projekt Red’s nightmare is far from over. Cyberpunk 2077 is widely known for being a buggy, glitchy mess at launch, not too dissimilar to what The Witcher 3 was initially like, and I think it’s safe to assume it’s only a matter of time before more footage from the game’s rocky development makes its way onto the internet.
CD Projekt Red was targeted by hackers earlier this year with much of their internal data, including anything from The Witcher 3 and Cyberpunk 2077 source code to employee HR files, being stolen and eventually sold for millions of dollars. The developer’s unfortunate year was quantified recently as they stated their profits were down 65% from expectations. This was due in large part to the cost of fixing up Cyberpunk 2077.
Cyberpunk 2077 is currently available for PS4, Xbox One, and PC. PS5 and Xbox Series X/S versions are expected some time this year.
