The AIPT Comics podcast welcomes Heavy Metal Magazine CEO Matt Medney to talk about ongoing and future projects!

Your weekly recap of the comics news, reviews, and special guests is back and this week Matt Medney joins the show. CEO of Heavy Metal as well as a writer of numerous hard sci-fi novels and comics, we discuss his tenure at Heavy Metal and his upcoming projects! Dark Wing: Unstable Elements is getting collected on July 21st, hard sci-fi book Beyond Kuiper: The Galactic Edition arrives July 27th, and following that a new Indiana Jones style adventure The Adventures of Adrienne James #1 arrives August 11th. We dig into all these works and more!

Before the interview, we dig into the biggest comics news of the week. We open by talking about the great loss of filmmaker Richard Donner and what he’s meant to the comics industry and comics movies as a whole.

In other news, DC Comics announced SDCC Comic-Con@Home 2021 schedule, Something is Killing the Children is getting a TV adaptation, super indie comic Faust will be getting an animated series Based, Marvel announced Death of Doctor Strange getting spin-offs, Batman The Long Halloween Special is coming this October, DC to launch new Human Target title by Tom King and Greg Smallwood, and finally, AHOY Comics announced a deal with Lunar distribution and we discuss what this might mean for comics distribution going forward.
