‘Slasher: Flesh & Blood’ Episode 6 review: ‘Face Time’

For the Gram.

The story so far: An incredibly tense episode ends with another Galloway dead and one a prisoner of art. The game intensifies and the previously well defined battle lines become muddled. With each passing moment, a strange bond becomes more clear among the survivors. They are becoming more leery of each other, but they also know that together they are their best chance of surviving. This means they have to protect each other.

The previous episode ended with the wildest ending of the season. Slasher: Flesh & Blood has been filled with crazy finales, but the last one was a mix of emotions. The anger and fear of the survivors mingled with the atmosphere and mystery of the show. “Face Time” picks right up from last episode and it is not long before things get even crazier. This leads to some of the most gruesome moments of the series.

Episode six also includes a stunning revelation. Again, the show has been filled with twists and turns, but this one comes out of nowhere. It is the kind of shock that sounds ridiculous, but works in this type of story. Flesh & Blood also does a good job building to the reveal. While there is no foreshadowing, it also is easy to see based on some situations already seen. It is a memorable moment that also allows for some black comedy.

As is par for the course with Flesh & Blood, there are some flaws. In particular, one of the characters has some strange reactions throughout the show. They are upset when something happens they predicted may happen. It is an awful situation, but as the character correctly points out, there is only one other thing that could have happened. That option is pretty bad in its own right so it leads the audience to think, “What did you expect?”

Despite some minor flaws, Slasher: Flesh & Blood remains one of the most fun shows on today. Its gore rivals anything seen on television or in theaters this year and its story continues to captivate. As the body count climbs, the number of suspects dwindle. Conversely, it becomes harder to figure out who is behind everything. This all adds up to amazing episodic television.

Slasher: Flesh & Blood airs on Shudder with new episodes each Thursday.
