Quantic Dream rumored to be working on a Star Wars game

Quantic Dream’s rumored Star Wars game has reportedly been in development for 18 months.

Rumors have circulated recently stating French developer Quantic Dream is working on a new Star Wars game. Dualshockers writer Tom Henderson reportedly spoke “to an individual who provided overwhelming evidence that he had contacts at Quantic Dream” and stated their Star Wars game had been various stages of development for 18 months and possibly started full development recently. French YouTuber Gautoz was first on the scene with the rumor, saying Quantic Dream has signed with Disney on a recent stream.

While rumors sometimes come true, more often than not they’re guesses we should be skeptical of. Nevertheless, this is an enticing rumor I’d be excited to see come true. Quantic Dream is known for their choice-based games with branching storylines, such as Heavy RainBeyond: Two Souls, and their most recent release Detroit: Become Human. A Quantic Dream Star Wars title would be a unique offering in the Star Wars universe as most SW games are action-adventure games, RPGs, or FPSs. Would Quantic Dream put players in the role of a Jedi Council member, a Sith lord, a clone trooper, or perhaps all of the above? It’s anyone’s guess at this point.

If Quantic Dreams is actually working on a Star Wars game, and if it actually just recently went into full development, don’t expect any official word on it for some time. Five years passed between Beyond and Detroit, and another five between Detroit and Quantic Dream’s next offering wouldn’t be out of left field. In the meantime, check out what we hope to see in the upcoming Knights of the Old Republic remake and let us know what you think of a possible Quantic Dream Star Wars game in the comments below!
