On Tuesday, StarWars.com revealed that George Lucas will get his own action figure in the 6″ Scale Black Series to celebrate Lucasfilm’s 50th anniversary.
This isn’t the first time Lucas has been part of the a Star Wars toy line. In addition to his 2002 appearance as Rebel pilot Jorge Sacul, there was a 2006 mail away figure featuring the film legend in his younger days while donning a stormtrooper disguise. There was also an appearance as a Revenge of the Sith background character (Baron Papanoida), but we won’t count that one since he was blue.
This time, the 6″ scale figure has Lucas sporting his distinguished grey hair along with an improved facial likeness and much better tooling/articulation. It will also come packaged on a Kenner-style cardback, which makes it one of the few figures I might actually consider keeping unopened.
As if all that weren’t cool enough, the figure will be available through Amazon, which means that most folk who want one will be able to get it. Preorders open on Wednesday at 1:00 PM EDT and with the figure expected to begin arriving in early 2022.
